Simon Gagne's mild right groin strain was re-affirmed by a Flyers team doctor today and the right winger is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, the team said.

"Simon will have some medicine injected into the affected area Friday morning and will be advised to rest for 1 week before returning to his normal fitness routine," general manager Paul Holmgren said in a statement. "He will be allowed back on the ice in 2 weeks and should be ready for training camp on Sept. 12."

Gagne was examined by Dr. Peter DeLuca.

He was injured Monday night in Calgary during a practice at Team Canada's orientation camp.
