Eagles tight end Zach Ertz's hamstring tightened up during practice Thursday, but he's expected to play Sunday against the Denver Broncos.

Coach Doug Pederson said Friday the Eagles were being cautious when reducing Ertz's workload Thursday, but didn't sound concerned about Ertz. Ertz will be important against the Broncos; Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had seven catches for 133 yards and one touchdown last week against the Broncos, so that could be a place to attack Denver's top-ranked defense.

Some other notes from Pederson:

** Pederson hasn't decided whether running back Jay Ajayi will play Sunday. He wants to see how Ajayi does during red zone practice on Friday. Ajayi is getting a limited menu of plays for Sunday's game — 10-15 plays to learn.

"It's a taste of a little of every aspect of the offense," Pederson said. "First and second and third down. We'll find out a little more today in the red zone. It definitely won't be the full complement."

** Cornerback Ronald Darby will be questionable for Sunday's game. He hasn't yet practiced with the starters, but Pederson said Darby is "doing extremely well," had his "best week so far in preparation," and is getting in game condition.

"Just have to see, barring anything crazy these next couple of days, we'll see where he's at on game day," Pederson said. "Probably a game-time decision."

Pederson said he will factor in next week's bye week when making his decision.

"As long as we don't put a guy out there where we jeopardize them further, they'll usually play this game," Pederson said.
