A family traveled from North Dakota to Philadelphia to watch Eagles practice last week, and the sight of Carson Wentz brought tears to their eyes when interviewed by 6ABC WPVI-TV.

Wentz, who grew up in Bismarck, N.D. and went to college at North Dakota State, watched the video.

"It's really cool, just to know I have that support," Wentz said. "Obviously here in Philly, the fan support in Philly is unbelievable. But knowing that fan support extends back home, the same fans I had since I was even a kid, in college at North Dakota State, seeing the amount of passion they have and that they still follow me, it's definitely humbling and it's also really cool to recognize that I have that influence. I'm very fortunate."

Wentz is an icon in his home state. Take it from someone who visited last spring – they adore Wentz and are protective of him. Wentz is one of three active players who went to North Dakota high schools.

Asked why he drew such strong emotion, Wentz laughed.

"I don't really know," Wentz said. "I just tell everyone I'm a normal dude that has been blessed to play this game. But I think it's cool, from North Dakota, there's not a lot of big things that come out of there nationally, so I just think it's a lot of North Dakota pride that comes with it."
