Carson Wentz

UP – The second-year quarterback finally got to show fans for a full game the progress he has made since the end of last season. Was Wentz perfect? No. The tipped pick-six was mostly on him and he missed an open Torrey Smith twice on deep throws. But he's already one of the best in the NFL at throwing on the move.

Brandon Graham

UP – Graham set the tone from the get-go, particularly against the run. But like the rest of the defensive line, he was a relentless pass rusher and cashed in late with two sacks  —  the first a game-clinching forced fumble that resulted in a touchdown.

Jalen Mills

UP – The Redskins went at Mills early and often and he responded. The second-year cornerback gave up a few softies, but he also made several plays on the ball, tackled against the run when called upon, and had a red zone turnover for his first career interception.

Zach Ertz

UP – He handed in the best opener of his five-year career with eight catches for 93 yards. Ertz's finest moment came when Wentz scrambled outside the pocket on third and 10 in the fourth quarter and the tight end released up the sideline for a 23-yard grab.

Kirk Cousins

DOWN – Credit the Eagles defense for making Cousins look pedestrian. The Redskins quarterback had beaten the Birds five straight times, but he was erratic all game. He clearly missed having DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon to throw to.

Nelson Agholor

UP – Agholor delivered upon a promising training camp. Wentz deserved most of the credit for the Eagles' game-opening 58-yard touchdown, but Agholor found space and broke a tackle attempt before waltzing into the end zone.

Alshon Jeffery

SIDEWAYS – The Eagles' prized offseason addition was quiet for most of the day. He also dropped a pass and couldn't pull in a 50-50 jump ball. But Jeffery also reeled in a big 24-yard reception late and muscled for a two-point conversion.

Fletcher Cox

UP – The Eagles defensive tackle is just as dangerous rushing from the edge, as he showed when he sacked and forced Cousins to fumble in the first quarter. Cox was also Johnny on the spot after Graham knocked the ball from the Redskins quarterback.

Eagles Running Game

DOWN – LeGarrette Blount ran hard, but his longest rush of the day was for 7 yards. Eagles running backs, overall, managed just 2.6 yards a carry. They're going to need more production moving forward.

Patrick Robinson

UP – Robinson ably stepped in for the injured Ronald Darby at outside cornerback. He had two strong open-field tackles against the run and had tight coverage on an incomplete deep pass. It's his job  —  except in the nickel  —  for the foreseeable future.

Doug Pederson

SIDEWAYS – The Eagles coach deserved ultimate credit for guiding his team to the victory and ending the losing streak to Washington. But Pederson had some dubious play calls, in particular an awkward-looking lateral to Agholor that turned into a fumble and a bubble screen on third and long.

Jim Schwartz

UP – The defensive coordinator called one of his better games since coming to the Eagles. The blitzes  — including a seven-man rush on the Cousins red zone interception  —  were timely and Schwartz found the right matchups in the secondary.
