Vick backs off criticism of Top 100 ranking

Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was a bit more diplomatic Tuesday in his reaction to being ranked No. 70 in the NFL Network's Top 100 players of 2011.

During a Monday interview with Mike Missanelli on the 97.5 the Fanatic, Vick said, That's a joke … I won't say where I need to be, I'll let my peers and everybody else decide on that.

"It was voted on by the peers, but I just disagree. … Thank you, because they've motivated me to become a better player this year, so I'll have that in the back of my mind as I go out and play this year as well."

Asked after practice Tuesday, Vick said, "It's all good. I'm going to prove myself and get myself back in the top 20 next year."

"Obviously I pay attention to it but I'm a competitor. I feel like I'm one of the best at what I do. It's somebody else's opinion, and I have to prove them wrong and make them say otherwise."

Vick seemed to enjoy the setting as the full team returned for three days of OTAs before the team breaks until training camp.

"It's very important to take the next three days as serious as possible and continue to get better each and every day," Vick said. "Nothing really has changed since OTAs, but the intensity has picked up and the defense has played well over the past few days. The offense has done a great job. We're just learning."
