Todd Herremans' season likely over

Todd Herremans, who suffered a foot injury during Monday night's loss to the Saints, is likelyg done for the season, reports Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com.

UPDATE (12:45 p.m.): The Eagles will activate offensive lineman Julian Vandervelde and add him to the 53-man roster, tweets Jeff McLane of the Inquirer. According to McLane, this makes it clear that the Eagles will place Herremans on Injured Reserve, although the team has not made it official. The only question remaining, McLane says, is whether or not Herremans lands on season-ending IR, or short-term IR.

Eagles starting right tackle Todd Herremans, who suffered a foot injury during Monday night's loss to the Saints, is likely done for the season, reports Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com.

According to Frank's source, Herremans' injury does not look good:

"It's not good," one team official said. "It doesn't look good at all. We're still waiting for [more test results], but it looks bad."

The Eagles have not released any information about Herremans' injury, other than head coach Andy Reid's announcement after the game Monday night that Herremans had suffered a "tendon strain" in his foot-ankle area.

Until all the tests are concluded, the Eagles won't rule Herremans out or place him on Injured Reserve. But everything so far points to a fairly significant injury.  Click for full story >>

If Herremans is indeed done for the season, that would be a horrific blow to an offensive line that has already lost Pro-Bowl left tackle Jason Peters (Achilles) and Jason Kelce (knee) for the season.

More to come.
