Reid takes responsibility for loss

POSTED: Thursday, December 1, 2011, 11:38 PM

SEATTLE -- Andy Reid offered his usual fare at his postgame news conference after the Eagles' 31-14 loss at Seattle tonight.

"Compliments to the Seahawks," Reid said. "Four turnovers, it's tough to win football game. We have to do a better job as a football team. It's my responsibility to get that done. I thought we played hard. We have to put them in posiion to make plays and they have to make plays."

Reid was asked if his players were playing hard. He scoffed at that suggestion.

"I have good guys," Reid said. "I can't complain about the effort or work ethic. I have to put them in better posiion to make plays."

Reid reported that special-teams ace Colt Anderson likely has a torn ACL and that Nnamdi Asomugha suffered a stinger and concussion.

Andy's been taking the bullet for this roster all year. Time Lurie delivered it.

How about us fans start doing a better job and stop buying merchandise and sell our tickets. Not calling a time out with a minute to go - 12 men on the field - how about Andy you do a better job and quit!

Revenue from merchandise sales is shared among the teams so that's a pretty empty threat.

Okay....AR needs to recognize that his team, and I use that word loosely, is not a team at all. That his consistent drone about being responsible should provide him with impetus to resign. No one can continuously say he does poorly and continue to have a job unless his bosses are equally inept. As much as I have followed the Eagles though thick and thin...I think it is time to watch a cooking program instead.

The punk, acted like the punk he is, again tonight.
How could you reward somebody like that with a big contract. Suspend him, reinstate him in a few weeks and play him, and if he still has'nt learned his lesson, suspend him again.
Then the last week of the season, release him. He will be somebody else's problem next year.

Shady Mccoy - You deserve to be on a better team. You are a special player and are destined for greatness if you ever carry the ball enough times like a real RB should.

Brian Dawkins - Every fiber of of our collective being wants the Broncos to win a super bowl this year. It probably won't happen but for everything you gave to us as an Eagle, we are rooting for you. #20 forever.

Andy Reid - Your act is old and tired. Without acknowledging how truly awful this team is performing, you are part of the problem and not part of the solution. We fans want you out. Leave our football team before you make it any worse than it already is.

    regards,
    eagles fans everywhere

What an ugly display. This is one disgusting season. Challenging a clear interception first play of the game. NOT utilizing McCoy as much as he should. Burning time outs b/c theres to many men on the field. This is a monster problem and Lurie MUST do something as soon as this season ends.

Andy you have no one to blame but yourself. You had a plan and it backfired. All those X's and O's did not work out as they do on paper. About time to let someone else take over.

if you didnt want a four turnover game then you shouldnt have signed the DUMBEST QUARERBACK IN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE. THATS WHAT YOU GET WITH HIM. litterally the lowest wonderlic, not only for QB's but ALL PLAYERS. he cant figure out where to throw the ball in a short 3 second window so he does something stupid, like picking the wrong answer on the wonderlic. bad choices with the football, and innacurate on top of it, wow....5 million dollars for that. I said on day 1, one of the WORST SIGNINGS OF THE ENTIRE OFFSEASON. COMPLETE INSANITY. you need SMART quarterbacks if you gonna pass it all the time, otheriwse RUN THE BALL, BUT NOT BOTH. DUMBEST COACH IN THE NFL. HE WILL NEVER WIN A SB OR A CHAMPIONSHIP AT ANY LEVEL OF PRO FOOTBALL, NONE. NEVER.
