Michael Vick's mobile football game tops app store charts

Eagles quarterback Michael Vick is known for being mobile, but he has recently put a new meaning to that moniker, launching a mobile football game called Mike Vick: Gametime. His game, which is currently free for a limited time, cracked the Top 10 Paid App list on Apple's App Store within a week and is now the top-ranked football game on Apple devices.

More from the press release:

NFL superstar quarterback Michael Vick launched the number one football game for iPhone and iPad in the U.S. this month. Within its first week on the market, Mike Vick: GameTime became a Top 10 Paid app in the U.S., achieving a 4.5 star rating and rave reviews from its players. To celebrate and show fan appreciation, the app is currently free for a limited time as the #1 Football Game for iPhone and iPad in the U.S. Apple App Store.

The game's early success is partly due to careful input and a personal touch from Vick himself. Fans who signed up for pre-orders received the game for free and were informed of the release via a text message from Vick. "It was important to me that the game be user-friendly while teaching you some X's and O's," said Vick. "You have to anticipate the receivers' routes, so the gameplay is fun."

Mike Vick: GameTime is designed for your iPhone and iPad. The 4-on-4 gameplay creates the most immersive, streamlined football experience on mobile. Develop passing skills as you learn to anticipate the throw and lead your receivers. Master your craft with short passes, bullet passes and deep bombs… all to lead your team down the field to glory.

"Michael Vick is widely known as one of the greatest players on the field and arguably the greatest virtual video game athlete ever," said KBJ Games. "Vick has a passionate fan base with nearly 4 million fans across Facebook and Twitter. We have had a huge response from fans by downloading the game and giving it great reviews."

Overall, Vick's GameTime is currently the #1 Football Game in the U.S. Apple App Store, with plans for an Android version underway.
