It's not just the Eagles. It's not just the NFC East. The league STINKS! 80% of the product is not worth watching, it's such a watered down version. Jerry West, Frazier, Mosses, Bird remember when you wanted to watch the NBA, and now, if you bother at all, just tune in for the 4th Qtr or catch the highlights? The NFL is quickly approaching NBA status. 40 years of Sunday's is enough. Why would I waste my time and energy on this Eagles team? Yes they not only stink, and have no heart, but with very few exceptions, they are joined by the entire league.

Change the quarterback and the coach and this team could be as good as the Packers this year. This still makes it Reid's fault.

We all know the Eagles are such a terrible team. One who Fights and argues on the sidelines.....Cries to reporters.....complains about contracts.....Wow! I'd say this team needs a new makeover including Lurie! This country loves making fun of Philly!

@Mikefrom Macon, nice try on tossing in a little hidden racism at the end. What the heck does a "white quarterback" have to do with this disaster of a football team? Idiot. Go back to Macon.

What is Bob Ford smoking? Bring back Mcnabb? No wonder they weren't soliciting any comment section for that one! This team is not a team. Something is missing, some glue to hold it together, and it ain't McNabb!.....someone like a true warrior....hmmmmm, maybe like a Dawkins? Not a high priced Nmamdi Pmamdi...all flash, no game. What a collective letdown for the whole "D".....

Have we really been reduced to arguing over whether the Eagles are better than the 4-8 Dolphins? Yes, we have! Franchise Jackson, then trade him. Trade Rogers-Cromartie. Start over at LB and safety. Find a new DC. Above all, find a new GM.

First, I'm not a fan of the Eagles but since I have LeSean McCoy on my fantasy team, I've paid alot of attention this year...first, DeSean Jackson, while talented, is a cancer not unlike T.O. or Ocho Dumbo and others who think they're better than the team and the best to ever play the game (LMAO on Jackson)...trade him...you've got more talent behind him (think Riley Cooper--less talent but more heart!)...Second, two weeks ago against New England, when it was obvious LeSean was getting anywhere running, it would have been quick and simple to start throwing to him (he was wide open on the 2-3 yard line once when you scored late and threw into double coverage to another)...you need the ball into his hands...Lastly, the best game of the year was against Dallas when Vick was throwing short passes to both McCoy and Celek which opened up the running game as well as other WR's...a great game plan that appeared to have been lost afterwards...

Ultimately, Andy Reid and staff are responsible...he has had a nice run in Philly but it MIGHT be time to move on and forward as well...that is for upper management to decide but didn't they sign Vick for ridiculous amounts?..what does that say about them?...does Philly not allow a white quarterback? a pure passer and intelligent leader? I'm just saying...

"The Eagles are a terrible team"

Wow Jeff, that's a pretty bold statement from you here in week 13. Most of the rest of us knew that by week 4.

Still, congrats for finally breaking out of Andy Reid-buttkiss mode.

They are a terrible team now. That does not mean they will be terrible next year. They have alot of talent on offense, and can move the ball, a few changes to short yardage situations, better reads by Vick on Blitz, and one key player for red zone and this is a Super Bowl offense.
Now on Defense, big problems, they can rush passer, and can play man to man with a few corners, but after that they do not have the talent, the coaching, or the scheme to contend, big changes to even become middle of the road D

Really?!? I think that MaLane is a pompous, arrogant, self absorbed nobody saying anything to make a name for himself. He gives Philly even more negativity (if that's possible) that isn't needed. There isn't too much joy in this season to begin with but the way he attacked D-Jack after the game was uncalled for. I see enough "sensationalism" in other media, can we keep it out of sports? Please!

this team has no character or leadership,,it starts from the coach-qb-etc etc,,an offseason trade of conVick and samual for tebow and dawkins would bring back leadership and character to this team, also big red has to go ASAP..diehards like ppizza, cyo, charmaine still think con can still play he's on the decline,it started with that stupid decision to pay him 100 mil,,they were fooled in getting him out of levenworth and then giving 100 mil, most of the fans donot think this was a good deal and will keep the team in decline for the next 5 years,,it's a shame with a Rb like shaddy mccoy in his prime..i called this disaster before the season started go check the posts....wolf.

the coaching staff and front office has failed this team. naming castillo d coordinator left all these d players out danging in the wind with no defined system to work with. that was an arena football league move at best. reids concept of having a high scoring offense that will force the other team to pass all the time to catch up has proven to be unrealistic. a wishful fantasy football scenario. drafting defense has been a complete failure for several years now. when a front office tells a player to come in to camp and they will take care of him and then they dont, it makes every player on that team doubting the front office and the team they play for.

Outdated system (they don’t even change their audible to the run, whenever Vick taps his hips EVERYONE in the universe knows he's calling an audible) at least they run there. Overrated soft players with yesmen coaches. Guess what emperor eveybody is laughing at that Moo-Moo you're wearing. Terrible team, game over Reid needs to go

The head coach and the coordinators don't trust the players and the players know it! Everything is over scripted and analyzed in advance without willingness to adapt to actual field conditions which explains their terrible second half performance. To hell with the fancy schemes-run to daylight, hit the open receiver beat your opponent man to man with the superior talent that you drafted/traded/purchased. hit your opponent, out run your opponent!!

tjstrow, I hate to sound like a front office apologist, but did it ever occur to you that the 60,000 armchair QBs don't see/know the whole picture? It is not as easy to transform a real football team as it is a fantasy team. Reid probably needs to go, but there has to be a top-notch coach who the Eagles want - and who wants the Eagles - waiting in the wings. And you can't change over 15-20 key roster spots and expect immediate results. It takes time for a team to become more than a team in name.

Eagles brought in new players, coaches, and schemes. In a perfect world everything would have meshed, and they would have won the big game. Hello...it's not a perfect world. Were there mistakes made? Yep...main one being Juan Castillo as D Coordinator . You have to have an experienced coordinator there....no if's, and's, or but's! Ok, enough with stating the obvious. I don't think Reid has to go, but Castillo does. With a true off season plan and a regular training camp, I think this group can do some great things. They do need to improve the linebacker core, and make some serious decisions regarding Assante and DRC, but they can be a special team. I've been watching the eagles since the 1970's, and while I would love a super bowl victory...I wouldn't trade all the great monday mornings (following a sunday victory) the past 12 years for only one great season with a super bowl victory. Now, it could be I'm in the minority, and i get that. I suppose had we ever won a super bowl prior to Reids tenure, more people would agree with me, but at this point most fans don't care about the week to week....they just want the SB victory. Especially, if you live in Philly...I don't. I still think Reid can get it done with some tweaks to the roster and the coaching staff....and a little luck might help as well.

Reid haters: Do you look at the records? Of coaches with 9 years minimum, Reid is 25th all time with a W-L record @ 60.4%. Just ahead of him are Bill walsh-60.9%, Tom Landry-60.7%. He has been to the playoffs a greater % of the time than Lombardi, Allen, Halas, Brown, Dungy, Belichick, Cowher, Grant, Gibbs, Buck Shaw, Schottenheimer, Walsh & Landry. Of the coaches who have been to at least 10 playoff games, he is 13th in W-L% at 52.6% and ahead of Dungy & Fisher who are the darlings of the haters club.

The worst thing this year about the Eagles was how the fans hugely overrated them. The fans were smug and foolish. Don't play the games
-- just brag. The players started to read and listen to the fans, and it destroyed them.
The fans thought they were going to the Super Bowl -- just because they said so. Yikes.
Now they think they're coaches and general managers. A little less arrogance, please, from the City of Brotherly Ego.

Fool, we're not the ones who called this a Dream Team. This mindset started with the players on the field, before they even showed up for the first preseason game! Even if your half-brained theory were true, a good coaching staff would keep that from happening. Go away.

I have to add my 2 cents...it boils down to this. How come 60,000 armchair quaterbacks in the Philadelphia area can see what is wrong with this team, but the coaches and front office cannot?? How come those same 60,000 armchair quarterbacks know that they should run the ball more and these same clowns running this team do not?? I have already gave up my company seats. It's hard to conduct business down at the Linc when the team on the field are a bunch of incompatant idiots!! Laurie better wake up before he find his stadium empty, that is the next logical step.

its a slap in the face reading and seeing all these pundits proclaiming Andy's job is safe. What are they seeing? What is Lurie seeing to make him want this to continue? i just don't get it. As a life-long Eagles fan it is really disheartening and gives me no hope for the future at all. As long as Reid is coach the Eagles will never win the SB. Isn't obvious? Apparently not. i won't buy tickets or support this team if it continues, i hope everyone is with me.

Actually it isn't remotely obvious. When did you get a crystal ball? The mathematical illiteratti that follow this team need to wake up to the fact that winning the SB in the present NFL is a once-in-32-years event (on average).

On average? What's that supposed to mean? Somehow, some coaches find a way to beat that average, while some, like the Land Whale, find a way to extend the Eagles below-average mark to 0 for 51.

The D- PASS COVERAGE has been a disaster. But Reid MUST have had front office BUY-IN to hire Juan Castillo as DC [due to past team affiliation].

The O- PASS DEFENSE has failed often. Vick's broken ribs play was by a completely UNBLOCKED pass rusher who was there instantly. He should be REQUIRED to wear that kevlar rib vest.

These TWO things have cost them 5-games they should have won.

"Why is Andy's job so secure?"

I only wish I knew the answer to that question, XanderCrews. If Reid were coaching ANY other team in the NFL, he would have been fired a decade ago. Almost EVERY NFL team has owners that are knowledgeable and passionate and involved. That doesn't seem to be the case here. Why us, is my question, why us? Where did we go wrong?

Reid is the main problem & has been for years. He has never been able to change his game plan during a game when its become obvious that the opponent knows what the Eagles are going to do next. He just stands there with that bewildered look on his face.

I think the problem is with the coaches, starting with Andy. The offense is one dimensional. With the talent we have, the offense should be way more dynamic than what it is.... pass happy. The defense, especially the secondary, doesn't believe in nor trust the scheme because it isn't utilizing what they do best. Reid says his team is young, since he acknowledges that he needs to build on these young guys confidences have them do the things they do well and then have them do new things. They will be more willing because they have the confidence knowing push come to shove the coaches will put them in positions they feel more comfortable with.

I agree, Jeff. they are what their record says they are: 4 wins and 8 losses (and possibly more), which makes them wretched this year. And I think the Eagles have quit playing for Reid, whether or not "there is just no quit in Reid."
