Eagles interview Staley for head coach job
The Eagles interviewed running backs coach Duce Staley for their head coaching vacancy Friday. Staley, 40, has been on the team's coaching staff since 2011 after spending 2010 as an intern. He started as a special-teams quality-control coach under Andy Reid and has coached the position he used to play since 2013.

A 10-year pro, Staley spent seven seasons with the Eagles. His 4,807 rushing yards rank fifth in franchise history. He won a Super Bowl with the Steelers after the 2005 season.
Staley is the first known interviewee since the team fired Chip Kelly on Tuesday. He is the Eagles' longest-tenured coach. By interviewing Staley, the Eagles are already in compliance with the Rooney Rule that requires teams to interview at least one minority candidate for a head coaching vacancy.
Logan on IR
The Eagles placed defensive lineman Bennie Logan on injured reserve and promoted cornerback Randall Evans from the practice squad.
Logan was already declared out for Sunday's game against the New York Giants because of a calf injury. Evans, a 2015 sixth-round pick, provides depth in the secondary. The team is already without Byron Maxwell because of a shoulder injury. Jaylen Watkins is questionable with a shin injury.
Evans did not make the 53-man roster after the preseason, but he has spent the entire season on the practice squad.
Reese honored
Merrill Reese, the Eagles' play-by-play radio announcer, was named the first winner of the Bill Campbell Broadcast Award, to be presented at the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association banquet on Feb. 1. Reese has called Eagles games since 1977.
