Vick dedicates field in Hunting Park

"Team Vick Field" will be used by Philadelphia Aztecs youth football program and Little Flower High.

EAGLES QUARTERBACK Michael Vick appeared yesterday at the dedication of "Team Vick Field" in Hunting Park, which will be home to the North Philadelphia Aztecs youth football program and to Little Flower High athletics.

The Team Vick Foundation provided $200,000 of the $1.4 million needed to restore the field and convert it to multisport use, according to the Parks and Recreation department.

"It's very important for these kids to have a football field they can be proud of," Vick said at the dedication. "The kids need to know that people care about them. They learn a lot more than football. The children learn from coaches who are strong mentors, and it lifts the entire community."

The Fairmount Park Conservancy has raised $4 million as part of the Hunting Park Revitalization project.
