Roethlisberger 'questionable' after injury

Ben Roethlisberger continues to undergo tests and evaluation on his right shoulder, after he injured it during Monday night's 16-13 win over the Chiefs. Ben Roethlisberger continues to undergo tests and evaluation on his right shoulder, after he injured it during Monday night's 16-13 win over the Chiefs. Roethlisberger took a hard hit from Kansas City's Justin Houston and Tamba Hali, then left the game with his throwing arm held limp against his body.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Roethlisberger has a sprain in his shoulder. But Tomlin could not provide any timetable for when his QB might return.

"Obviously, his injury puts his participation in the questionable category," Tomlin said of Roethlisberger's status for a Week 11 game against Baltimore. "I'll have more information as this week unfolds."

Ex-Seahawk arrested

Police in Kirkland, Wash., say former Seahawks tight end Jerramy Stevens appeared in court after being arrested hours earlier on suspicion of domestic violence assault.

Seattlepi.com said a Kirkland Municipal Court judge released Stevens, saying there was no evidence connecting him to any assault. The website reported that U.S. women's national soccer team goalkeeper Hope Solo was in court Tuesday.

Lt. Mike Murray said officers responded to a disturbance at a home in a Seattle suburb around 3:45 a.m. Monday. He said officers did not receive cooperation from the people at the home, but determined there was probable cause to arrest Stevens on fourth-degree assault.

Stadium fee criticized

Gov. Mark Dayton criticized the Minnesota Vikings for considering extra fees on season-ticket holders as a way to help cover the team's share of a new $975 million stadium, but the team's owners point out that option was a key part of the deal.

The Democratic governor and Vikings management were allies during the long path to approving plans for a new, publicly subsidized stadium that were approved by lawmakers this year. But in a letter to team owners Zygi and Mark Wilf, Dayton said he strongly opposed "shifting any part of the team's responsibility for those costs onto Minnesota Vikings fans. This Private Contribution is your responsibility, not theirs."

Peterson cleared

A grand jury in Houston has dismissed a misdemeanor resisting arrest charge against Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson after hearing from the four-time Pro Bowler.

Derek Hollingsworth, one of Peterson's attorneys, said the case stemming from Peterson's July 7 arrest outside a nightclub is expected to be formally dropped on Wednesday.

Bears sign McCown

The Chicago Bears, who play the 49ers in San Francisco on Monday, don't yet know if concussed quarterback Jay Cutler will be ready to go. To that end, they re-signed Josh McCown and waived reserve tight end Brody Eldridge.

If Cutler is sidelined, Jason Campbell would start for the Bears.
