Eagles Notes: Vick to participate in Eagles' Monday practice

Andy Reid said Friday that starting quarterback Michael Vick, out the last three games with cracked ribs, could practice on Monday and that he might start when the team resumes play next Sunday at Miami.

Andy Reid said Friday that starting quarterback Michael Vick, out the last three games with cracked ribs, could practice on Monday and that he might start when the team resumes play next Sunday at Miami.

"I do," Reid said when asked if he thought Vick would be available when the team practices on Monday. "In what role, we'll see. But I think there is a pretty good chance. I want to see him throw the ball and really put torque on it for at least a handful or more than a handful of plays."

Reid also raised some eyebrows when asked if he would go with Vince Young as the starter if Vick could not play at Miami.

"We'll see," Reid said, raising speculation that he might give second-year quarterback Mike Kafka a look. Young threw four interceptions Thursday in the Eagles' 31-14 loss at Seattle. He completed 17 of 29 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown.

Asomugha concussed

Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha suffered a concussion late in the second quarter against the Seahawks. The Eagles did not say whether he would be available at Miami.

The Eagles also confirmed that Colt Anderson was lost for the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee late in the second quarter. Anderson is scheduled for surgery next week.

Practice squad signing

The Eagles signed cornerback D.J. Johnson to the practice squad on Friday.

Johnson was most recently with the Redskins, who claimed him off the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad early last month. Johnson, 26, also spent time with the Denver Broncos practice squad (2009) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2010).
