Cowboys' Ryan: 'Andy kicked my ass'

He may believe the hype now. Dallas defensive coordinator Rob Ryan took the blame Sunday night after the Eagles offense, most notably LeSean McCoy, had its way with the Cowboys en route to a 34-7 thrashing at Lincoln Financial Field.

"I don't say anything I don't really believe," said Ryan, who earlier in the week had called the Eagles more hype than Dream Team. "Hopefully this will be last time this happens. But whatever happened that was all my fault."

The Cowboys entered Sunday with the NFL's top rushing defense. That changed as McCoy gained a career-high 185 yards on 30 carries and two touchdowns as the Eagles finished with 239 rushing yards.

"That's a hell of a back back there," Ryan said of McCoy. "He's coming out every angle known to man. The guy's a special player."

Had Ryan ever had been on the receiving end of a game like this? "Hell yeah, I've had my ass kicked," said Ryan. "Coffeyville Junior College and I don't know when the hell that was. That was the worst thing I'd ever seen. ... We'll bounce back, I ain't quitting. I'm gonna fight a little harder and call a better game."

Cowboys linebacker Keith Brooking said the front seven started to overpursue and got exposed by McCoy.

"We felt like we had a great plan coming into it," said Brooking. "But, as players it's up to us to go out there and execute. We didn't do that, we let our coaches down and that's disappointing."

"It's all comes down to coaching," said Ryan. "And Andy Reid read my mail, kicked my ass and I just need to go back and work harder. I got to be smarter than this."

In eight weeks, the Eagles visit Dallas on Christmas Eve.

Plenty of time to hype up the rematch.
