The McDermott brothers are reuniting with the Eagles.

Tim McDermott returned to the team yesterday as a senior vice president and chief marketing officer. He previously worked with the organization as senior director of marketing before spending 4 years with the Washington Capitals.

His brother, Sean, just completed his first year as the Eagles' defensive coordinator and 11th with the Birds.

Tim will report to team president Joe Banner and is in charge of managing and growing marketing, advertising, merchandising, Internet/new media and broadcasting for the team.

"I never stopped rooting for the Eagles and it will be a dream fulfilled to work again for the same team as my brother," Tim McDermott said.

Cowboy fined

Cowboys safety Ken Hamlin was fined $12,500 for his hit on Eagles tight end Brent Celek in the first quarter of Saturday's wild-card game, according to reports in Dallas.

Hamlin was assessed a personal-foul penalty on the play. Celek said he did not see Hamlin coming, and he ended up with a swollen lower lip.

Childress gets chance

Minnesota coach Brad Childress gets the chance to do something his former boss could not do the last 2 weeks - beat the Dallas Cowboys.

Childress, the Eagles' former offensive coordinator, said he had not yet spoken to Andy Reid about the Cowboys.

"I just know what it's like at the end of the season, all the exit interviews and the things you've got to accomplish, so I'll probably catch up with him a little bit later in the week," Childress said. "It's all right there on tape for you to take a look at and right back-to-back, 2 weeks in a row."

Honor for Jackson

DeSean Jackson, who has been selected to the Pro Bowl as both a wide receiver and kick returner, was named to The Sporting News All-Pro team as a punt returner. Voting was done by a panel of 636 players, coaches and executives.

Jackson led the league with an average of 15.2 yards per return.

Denver safety Brian Dawkins also was selected to the team.
