Women's City Six roundup: Veilleux's last second three sends St. Joe's to A-10 semifinals

Sarah Veilleux hit Saint Joseph's only three-pointer of the game, putting the Hawks past Fordham and matching them up with Saint Louis in the A-10 semifinals.

Sarah Veilleux hit the Hawks only three-pointer of the game with 0.6 seconds left to send them to the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship.

Veilleux finished with just five points, three rebounds and an assist, but came up with the deciding shot from beyond the arc that put Saint Joseph's past the Rams. The Hawks were 0-for-8 from three before Veilleux's game-winner.

Chelsea Woods led Saint Joseph's with a game-high 18 points. Bre Cavanaugh recorded 17 points for Fordham.

The sixth-seeded Hawks will face the No. 7 seed Saint Louis Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

PENN 64, YALE 52

Michelle Nwokedi and Eleah Parker each recorded a double-double to lead the Quakers in an Ivy League win over the visiting Bulldogs.

Nwokedi finished with 15 points and 16 rebounds. She shot 5-for-16 from the field and went 5-for-5 at the free throw line. Parker recorded 14 points and 14 rebounds, shooting 6-for-15.

Anna Ross added 10 points.

Roxy Barahman led Yale with 14 points.

Penn (19-7, 10-3 conference) sits at second in the Ivy League standings with one game left in the regular season. The Quakers will take on Brown Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at the Palestra.
