VILLANOVA OFFICIALS last night could not confirm details in a release from the University of Michigan that the Wildcats and Wolverines would meet in the Legends Classic at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Nov. 25.

Although the 'Cats are scheduled to play in the event, a Villanova spokesperson said last evening that athletic department officials were unaware that any pairings had been set.

Villanova, Michigan, Virginia Commonwealth and Oregon will play in the 2-day event, which is run by the Gazelle Group, based in Princeton, N.J.

Michigan, which reached the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament last March, announced its nonconference schedule on its website yesterday.

"We are thrilled to be going back to Brooklyn and the Barclays Center for games with VCU or Oregon and then Villanova," Wolverines coach John Beilein said in the release. "All three are perennial NCAA Tournament teams, and those games will be a terrific opportunity to be tested early."
