'Nova AD: Ky. hasn't asked about Wright

Until Kentucky athletic director Mitch Barnhart names Tubby Smith's replacement, the rumors aren't going to stop any time soon, which means Jay Wright's name is going to be out there.

Until Kentucky athletic director Mitch Barnhart names Tubby Smith's replacement, the rumors aren't going to stop any time soon, which means Jay Wright's name is going to be out there.

But this week Villanova athletic director Vince Nicastro said no one had contacted him seeking permission to speak with Wright, nor had anyone contacted Wright directly. Nicastro took the now-annual Wright-on-the-Hot-List rumors in stride, arguing that as long as Villanova is doing well, Wright's name will circulate and as much as it might make fans anxious, it only means Wright is doing something right at 'Nova.

Last year Villanova signed Wright to a lucrative, 7-year contract extension that includes a serious buyout clause.

Stokes at McDonald's

Fans interested in checking out Villanova's future should tune in to ESPN at 8 o'clock tonight where future Wildcat Corey Stokes participates in the McDonald's All-American Game in Louisville, Ky.

Stokes, a 6-5 small forward, starred for coach Danny Hurley at St. Benedict's (Newark, N.J.) this year, helping his high school squad to a top-five national finish. He will join super recruit O.J. Mayo (USC signee) on the East squad. *
