Former Temple RB Harper signs with Giants

After a successful tryout over the weekend, former Temple running back Kenny Harper has signed a free agent contract with the New York Giants.

Harper was not selected in the recent NFL draft. He was offered a tryout with the Giants that lasted from Thursday through Saturday and then signed with the team.

"It feels pretty good," Harper said by phone.

Recently measured at 5-foot-10 and 232 pounds, Harper tied for the Temple team lead with six touchdowns. He rushed for 307 yards (3.5 avg.) and five touchdowns and caught 27 passes for 158 yards and a score.

Harper never missed a game at Temple, appearing in 48 during his four seasons.

"It's a sigh of relief," he said about his deal with the Giants. "But you can never relax beause you always have to keep going and you can never be content."
