Reports: Ex-Temple football player Adrian Robinson committed suicide

Robinson, who played in the NFL, had recently signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cars of the CFL.

ACCORDING TO multiple reports, the cause of death of former Temple defensive end Adrian Robinson was suicide.

Robinson, 25, died Saturday night in Philadelphia. He was the MAC defensive player of the year in 2009 and was one of the leaders in the turnaround of Temple's football program under coach Al Golden. His brother, Averee, is a rising junior nose tackle for the Owls.

The Harrisburg native played in the NFL in 2012 as an undrafted free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers. In the offseason, he was traded to the Eagles but was released a month later. He had brief stops after that in Tampa Bay, Washington, San Diego and Denver.

Late last month, Robinson signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, of the Canadian Football League.
