Drexel women's basketball coach Denise Dillon has agreed to a multiyear contract extension that will keep her at the school through 2020, athletic director Eric Zillmer said Thursday.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Dillon, who played at Villanova from 1993 to '96, is a member of the Big Five Hall of Fame. In her 10th season as coach, she guided Drexel to a 28-10 mark this year - a program record for victories.

The Dragons won the Women's NIT championship in April, making Drexel the first Division I women's basketball team in Philadelphia to gain a postseason tournament title.

Dillon is Drexel's all-time winningest Division I women's basketball coach with 179 victories.

Honors for Galloway. Recent La Salle graduate Ramon Galloway, who played two seasons at Philadelphia's Freire Charter, will receive the Wali Jones Male College Player of the Year Award from the Phoenix Club of Philadelphia on June 14 at the Union League.

Galloway averaged a team-best 17.2 points per game and delivered a team-high 127 assists.

VanLiew in spotlight. Less than a week after winning his second consecutive national javelin title, Rutgers-Camden's Tim VanLiew (Deptford) was named the Division III national men's field athlete of the year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

VanLiew's 75.55-meter throw (247 feet, 10 inches) broke the Division III record of 73.90 meters (242-5) set in 1995.
