Rowan baseball coach wins No. 400

Rowan head baseball coach Juan Ranero earned his 400th career victory this week. The milestone came Wednesday, when Rowan beat Neumann, 8-7, giving him a record of 400-271-5 in 16 seasons, 12 of them at Rowan, in 1994-98 and since 2006. His record with the Profs is 291-168-4 in 12 years. Ranero posted a 109-103-1 mark at Barry University in 2002-2005.

This year, the Profs have a 14-4 record. Rowan is ranked 11th in the D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 25 Poll and 14th in the American Baseball Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball Poll.

Temple rowers ranked

The Temple's women lightweight varsity eight has been ranked 10th by USRowing, becoming the first Owl boat to garner a national ranking.

 The team comprises of: Ellie Oken (coxswain); Laura Turner (stroke); Gina Inverso (seat-7); Kate Taylor (seat-6); Lauren Kidd (seat-5); Kelsey Joniec (seat-4); Sarah Jennings (seat-3); Caroline Slusarcyzk (seat-2); Mary Kate Logue (seat-1).

Stanford was ranked No. 1. Wisconsin, Princeton, Radcliffe, and Georgetown round out the top five.

Tennis anyone?

The Chestnut Hill's tennis teams have been ranked among the top ten programs in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Region according to the Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings. The Griffin women were No. 6 in the region while the men were at No. 7.

Dellinger honored

Widener junior guard Kate Dellinger was named to the all-Eastern College Athletic Conference South Region second team for the second straight year.

Peltzer's milestone

Attack Taylor Peltzer became the fourth Philadelphia University women's lacrosse player to tally 200 career points as the Rams came from behind to beat host Wilmington, 16-15 in overtime Thursday.

Peltzer entered the match three points shy of the milestone but quickly scored the opening goal 1:21 into the contest, had a second goal at the 23:12 mark, and then got an assist with 1:15 left in the half.
