Mike Jones next fight will be in Las Vegas or New York

Inching closer and closer to his goal of meeting Manny Pacquiao, Mike Jones' next fight will come as part of a major undercard.

The undefeated Mt. Airy-native's next bout will come on the undercard of either Pacquiao -Juan Manuel Marquez on Nov. 12 at Las Vegas' MGM Grand or Miguel Cotto-Antonio Margarito on Dec. 3 at either Madison Square Garden or Las Vegas, according to his camp.

A September fight in Atlantic City is ninety percent ruled out.

In June, Top Rank Promotions President Bob Arum placed Jones on a list of possible opponents to challenge Manny Pacquiao in 2012 for the WBO Welterweight Championship.

There is not yet a list of possible opponents for Jones' next fight, but the fight should be finalized in about four weeks. In the situation that Jones would lose his match on the undercard, he would also likely lose his chance to face Pacquiao.

In a stay-busy fight in June, Jones put away club fighter Raul Munoz with a second round technical knockout at the Asylum Arena in South Philadelphia. He is 24-0 on his career with 18 knockouts and holds the NABA and NABO welterweight titles.

Standing at five-feet-eleven, Jones would have a four and half inch height advantage over Pacquiao. Last November, Jones downed Jesus Soto Karass in a close decision on the undercard of Pacuiao's win over Margarito at Cowboys Stadium. Jones again beat Soto Karass in February at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay.
