Jason Sosa to headline first annual Puerto Rican Boxing Classic

Hard-hitting junior lightweight Jason Sosa (17-1-3, 13 knockouts) will headline the first annual Puerto Rican Boxing Classic in October.

Hard-hitting junior lightweight Jason Sosa (17-1-3, 13 knockouts) will headline the first annual Puerto Rican Boxing Classic in October.

Fresh off his one-round knockout of Jerry Belmontes, the Camden, NJ native, ranked No. 13 by the IBF, will try to extend his string of knockouts to 13 when he steps into the ring at 2300 Arena on Oct. 2 against an opponent yet to be named.

Sosa's bout is one of seven on the card. Other fighters already committed to appear on the card are Philadelphia lightweight Victor Vasquez (19-9-1, 9 KO) and junior welterweight David Gonzales (5-0-2, 1 KO), also of Philadelphia. Also on the card are Ismael "Tito" Garcia (8-0-1, 4 KO), of Vineland, NJ and super bantamweight stable mate Edgar Cortes (1-1)

The first fight is at 7 p.m.​
