Souls' winning streak snapped by Baltimore Brigade

The team entered the game with 17 straight victories, but fell short to a familiar foe.

The Soul's streak has ended.

After 17 straight wins dating back to last season, the Soul fell to the Baltimore Brigade, 49-42, on Saturday at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore.

The Soul (10-1) trailed, 42-35, at the start of the fourth quarter, the largest fourth-quarter deficit the team had faced since its streak began.

Batlimore defensive back Varmah Sonie intercepted a pass from quarterback Dan Radabaugh to begin the final frame, and the Brigade capitalized with a drive that ended on a four-yard touchdown pass from Shane Carden to receiver Reggie Gray.

"Tonight was not one of our best nights," Soul coach Clint Dolezel said. "We will need to shake off this loss, correct our mistakes, and prepare for next week."

Soul receiver Darius Reynolds finished with eight catches for 115 yards and two touchdowns. Radabaugh completed 18 of 28 passes for 247 yards and five touchdowns.

The Soul will take on the Washington Valor (1-9) at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Wells Fargo Center.
