About Toronto FC: Last week's game at Houston was supposed to be played Saturday but was postponed until Sunday due to rain and lightning. . . . Reigning MLS MVP Sebastian Giovinco entered the weekend sharing the league lead with 15 goals and was tied for second with 11 assists. . . . Toronto is 4-0-1 in its last five MLS games. . . . Keeper Clint Irwin and midfielder Benoit Cheyrou will both be out due to injury. . . . Toronto announced the acquisition of Panamanian international midfielder Armando Cooper on loan on Thursday, but he isn't expected to play on Saturday.

About the Union: Midfielder Chris Pontius has 10 goals and five assists to lead the Union in both categories. . . . Forward C.J. Sapong, who left Saturday's game near halftime for good after getting hit in the head, underwent concussion protocol this week. He said he expects to play. . . . Midfielder Brian Carroll suffered a plantar fasciitis injury in an Aug. 6 game at D.C. United that is expected to keep him out three to six weeks. Coach Jim Curtin said he is progressing well. . . . Before last week's shutout, the Union had allowed 11 goals in their previous four MLS games.
