TEMPLE 78, CENTRAL FLORIDA 64

After the game, Erica Covile was presented with a game ball commemorating her 1,000th point.

A workman's hardhat might have been more appropriate.

Covile, a senior, scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Temple closed out the regular season in style. She became just the fourth player in Owls history to record 1,000 points, 750 rebounds and 150 steals.

Tanaya Atkinson led all scorers with 24 points while Donnaizha Fountain chipped in 18 for the Owls (19-10, 13-5 American). Temple, the third seed in the conference tournament, receives a bye for Friday's first round. They will play the winner of sixth-seeded Tulsa and 11th-seeded Houston on Saturday at 8 p.m at Uncasville, Conn.

Temple beat Tulsa in their only meeting this season and took care of Houston twice.
