No. 2 Kansas earns share of Big 12 title

Mykhailiuk hit five three-pointers and didn't miss a shot until the final minute, helping the Jayhawks (25-4, 13-3) extend their title streak.

Toddrick Gotcher led the Red Raiders (18-10, 8-8) with 20 points.

Texas 76, Oklahoma 63 - Isaiah Taylor scored 18 points and the No. 25 Longhorns overwhelmed the No. 3 Sooners over the final seven minutes in Austin, Texas.

Buddy Hield scored 33 points for Oklahoma (22-6, 10-6). Connor Lammert and Javan Felix scored 14 points each for Texas (19-10, 10-6 Big 12).

Virginia 79, North Carolina 74 - Malcolm Brogdon scored 26 points and the Cavaliers used a 16-5 second-half run to break open a tie game and hold off the visiting Tar Heels for their 19th consecutive home win.

Anthony Gill added 15 points and London Perrantes had 12 for the Cavaliers (22-6, 11-5 ACC), who moved within one game of first-place North Carolina (23-6, 12-4).

Vanderbilt 74, Kentucky 62 - Matthew Fisher-Davis tied his career high with 20 points, and the Commodores (18-11, 10-6 SEC) topped the visiting Wildcats (21-8, 11-5) for their third straight victory.

Newton suspended

Miami Hurricanes guard Ja'Quan Newton has been suspended for the final three games of the regular season for a violation of team rules.

The suspension was announced shortly before the tipoff of Saturday's game between the 12th-ranked Hurricanes and No. 11 Louisville.

Miami rallied from a 62-58 deficit, scoring 12 consecutive points down the stretch to beat Louisville, 73-65.

Newton, a Neumann-Goretti graduate, will also miss games this week against Notre Dame and Virginia Tech.

Women

South Florida 76, Temple 62 -

Shaleth Stringfield had 20 points and Alisia Jenkins had 18 with 16 rebounds as No. 21 South Florida (21-7, 14-3 AAC) beat the Owls in Tampa, Fla.

Temple (18-10, 12-5), which won the first meeting, got 16 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists from Feyonda Fitzgerald and 15 points from Tanaya Atkinson.

Massachusetts 80, La Salle 57 - Jasmine Alston had 12 points and eight assists for the visiting Explorers (5-24, 2-14 A-10). Amy Griffin led La Salle with 15 points.

St. Joseph's 59, Richmond 57 - Guard Ciara Andrews hit the game-winning shot with 3.2 second left for the Hawks (14-14, 8-8 A-10). St. Joe's was down 56-48 before coming back on the road.
