Weather.com: Sunny, dry and very light wind throughout the day with a high of 74 degrees. Sunset is at 5:39 p.m. local time, which would be early third quarter-ish. The forecasted overnight low is 49 degrees.

Broncos' key injuries: Strong safety T.J. Ward (left ankle), free safety Darian Stewart (right knee) and right guard Louis Vasquez practiced on Thursday and should be fine.

Panthers' key injuries: Linebacker Thomas Davis will play despite breaking a bone in his right forearm on Jan. 24. A metal plate and 12 screws were implanted during surgery the following day. Defensive end Jared Allen missed the NFC Championship with a broken bone in his right foot, but practiced Thursday and will play Sunday.

Home team: Denver. Carolina will call the coin toss. The Panthers correctly called the coin toss in six of its eight road games this season.

National anthem: Lady Gaga will perform. Vegas has set the over/under at two minutes, 20 seconds. Vegas Vic has said he is leaning toward under.

Halftime: Coldplay will be the lead act, with expected appearances from Beyoncé and Bruno Mars. If Tony Bennett doesn't play, it's probably because he left his heart in San Francisco.

Commercials: $5 million for a 30-second spot, up 500 grand from a year ago.

One other note: The Hall of Fame Class of 2016 will be announced Saturday. Marvin Harrison, Terrell Owens and Brett Favre are among the finalists.

Quotable: "It's a bunch of people around you that care about you, (who) care about your everyday problems. And when you're this close with people it's easy to have fun," said Panthers wide receiver Corey Brown, a Cardinal O'Hara alum. "The wideouts have fun with the linebackers and the d-line . . . there's not a person on this team that I couldn't hang out with outside of football."
