Two lead after first round of LPGA event

Amy Anderson and Sandra Changkija shot 7-under 65s to share the lead Thursday after the first round of the LPGA's Cambia Portland Classic.

Anderson had seven birdies and no bogeys in her round. Changkija had one bogey to go with eight birdies.

They were 1 shot ahead of Julieta Granada, Brooke Henderson, and Alison Lee.

Mo Martin and Cristie Kerr shot 67 to trail by two shots.

Second-ranked Lydia Ko opened with a 70 to trail by 5 shots. Defending champion Austin Ernst shot 72.

U.S. Women's Amateur

PORTLAND, Ore. - Hannah O'Sullivan routed two more opponents to advance to the U.S. Women's Amateur quarterfinals at Portland Golf Club.

O'Sullivan beat Justine Dreher, 7 and 6, in the second round, and topped Jennifer Kupcho, 4 and 3, in the third.

She will face Lindsey McCurdy, who beat 2014 winner Kristen Gillman, 4 and 3, and Caroline Inglis, 1-up.

In the other upper-bracket quarterfinal, Mathilda Cappeliez will play Anna Newell. In the third round, Cappeliez beat Elizabeth Wang, 3 and 2, and Newell topped Bailey Tardy, 2 and 1.

In the lower bracket, Bronte Law will play Sierra Brooks, and Bethany Wu will face Mika Liu of Los Angeles.
