Quarterback Dan Raudabaugh leads the league with 108 TD passes and is eight away from setting a new career high . . . Philadelphia closes out the regular-season slate on Saturday, Aug. 8 at Jacksonville.
About the VooDoo: Financial troubles forced the AFL to step in and take over the franchise in mid-July. The league also took over the Las Vegas franchise and decided to cancel last week's game when New Orleans was to play at Las Vegas. The league ruled the game a 2-2 tie, a result that could mean the difference in Las Vegas reaching the playoffs . . . Two weeks ago, the VooDoo
upset visiting Tampa Bay . . . MLB Caleb Bostic started the season with the Soul before being traded midseason.
What's at stake: The Soul have homefield advantage for the American Conference playoffs and still have a slight chance at the No. 1 overall seed, which would mean the right to host the Arena Bowl Championship on Aug. 29. San Jose (15-1), which holds a two-game lead with two remaining, hosts Arizona (13-3) tonight and visits Los Angeles (4-12) next week.
We have a date: The Soul will play a conference semifinal game on Saturday, Aug. 15, at 5 p.m. against Cleveland or Tampa Bay.
