Pa. squad eliminates R.I.

A night after a tension-filled loss to Kentucky, the hometown favorites rebounded before another partisan crowd at Lamade Stadium.

Rhode Island had the tying run at the plate in the sixth but didn't plate it and was eliminated.

In a touching gesture, the teams then jogged around the stadium track together after the game to cheers from fans for both teams.

Georgia 6, South Dakota 3

Jake Fromm drove in four runs and pitched a hitless sixth for the save to help Warner Robins, Ga., stave off a late rally over Rapid City, S.D.

Saudi Arabia 4, Netherlands 2

Reliever Tyler Wilkins fanned the game's final two batters with the tying run on second base, and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, eliminated Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Taiwan 20, Aruba 3

Chin-Hao Yang went 4 for 4 with three runs, and Kaohsiung, Taiwan, avoided elimination with a rout of Oranjestad, Aruba. The game ended after four innings because of Little League's 10-run rule. Aruba was eliminated.
