NEW YORK - The hits keep coming for Lenny Dykstra.
The former Phillie's ring that he won as a member of the 1986 World Series champion New York Mets has been auctioned off for more than $56,000.
Heritage Auctions in Dallas said yesterday that a collector from Queens, N.Y., won with a bid of $56,762.50. Ironically, the Mets wrapped up that title over the Boston Red Sox in Queens, at Shea Stadium.
There were 11 auction items related to Dykstra, and they sold for more than $162,000.
Dykstra had filed for bankruptcy protection in July, saying he owed more than $31 million and had about $50,000 in assets.
