Adults need playtime, too

The article "Rekindling those campfire days" (Sunday) was a wonderful tribute to the importance of recreation for adults. With a chance to unplug from our everyday demands, we can experience ourselves and others in wonderful ways.

For 76 years, the Eastern Cooperative Recreation School (ECRS.org) has provided an all-ages getaway to connect, create, and play. We find the power of play inspiring and refreshing. Some campers even work at play, taking leadership tips back to their communities.

Our next event will be on the weekend of June 10 at Camp Onas in Ottsville, Bucks County. It's a perfect kickoff to summer, with games, folk dance, crafts, dramatics, singing, and other creative activities. Our five-day Winter Adventure leading up to New Year's offers an even more intense burst, a retreat from the ordinary.

I'm glad to know that kindred spirits are ready to play.
