Letters: Reader cites FOP prez's hypocrisy

RE: "FOP prez and reporter's ethics" story: Stop crying, you big baby! You're saying the Daily News reporters brought diapers, food and paid utility bills for their sources. When the cops pay their "confidential informants" - yes, pay them - what do you think they do with the money? I bet most of them buy drugs!

Stop crying, you big baby!

You're saying the Daily News reporters brought diapers, food and paid utility bills for their sources. When the cops pay their "confidential informants" - yes, pay them - what do you think they do with the money? I bet most of them buy drugs!

You can't do it and then bitch when other people do it to get info. They are doing their jobs, like you cops do yours.

No lesson plan

Just can't understand how executives, like the school superintendent, can use their knowledge and expertise to to further their careers but develop amnesia when they actually get the position.

Surely during interviews he displayed knowledge of Philadelphia's school system and its issues. Also, he had to have presented strategies and sound solution proposals. And to negotiate a major salary, perks, etc. takes confidence and skill. So what happened?

Fiery response

Blaming the Philadelphia Fire Department will not bring back Maria and Marialla, Patrick and Taj Jacque. I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the families who lost love ones and to the people that have lost their homes.

I am so angry that the people on Gesner Street believe that the Fire Department would intentionally not respond to a house fire and let four children burn to death. Is that what they believe about this country and the City of Philadelphia? Firemen in this country and in Philadelphia save people, they don't let people burn to death. If you truly believe that, why then come to this country if you think us so callous?

There is only one way to honor the memory of these four children: Educate people who come here from different countries about fire safety. Stop blaming and start listening.
