John W. Wenrich | Sales manager, 86

John W. Wenrich, 86, a retired sales manager and volunteer, died of lung cancer Saturday, March 19, at Ann's Choice, a retirement community in Warminster.

John W. Wenrich, 86, a retired sales manager and volunteer, died of lung cancer Saturday, March 19, at Ann's Choice, a retirement community in Warminster.

Mr. Wenrich graduated from Sharon Hill High School. During World War II, he served in the Army. As a rifleman, he fought in the Normandy invasion, and as a military policeman, he guarded Italian and German prisoners.

After his discharge, Mr. Wenrich worked in sales for electronics and appliance companies including Philco, Roskin Distributors, and Kelvinator. He was with Quasar Electronics when he retired in 1989.

He and his wife, Ruth Kolb Wenrich, lived in West Chester for 30 years before moving to Ann's Choice five years ago. They were married for 66 years.

Mr. Wenrich was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels in West Chester, and participated in Salvation Army food and clothing drives and was a bell ringer, collecting donations at Christmastime.

A member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Mr. Wenrich distributed miniature U.S. flags to honor veterans on national holidays and volunteered at the veteran-sponsored bingo games at Ann's Choice.

He had been an usher, Sunday School teacher, and Bible study leader at Calvary Lutheran Church in West Chester.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Wenrich is survived by daughters Gail French, Janet Baldino, Mary Kay DeBerardinis, and Beth Schultz; a son, John; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at Ann's Choice Chapel, 30000 Ann's Choice Way, Warminster. Friends may call from 1.
