The Keystone Mint in Folcroft, Delaware County, was chosen to craft and produce the commemorative coins for the World Meeting of Families, and it made them available for viewing Thursday.

The antique-bronze coins were designed by Mariangela Crisciotti, a sculptor from Rome, and Bruno Melone, a native of Italy who lives in South Philadelphia.

"We are proud to say a Delco business created a memento that will be with families for years to come to mark the Pope's historic visit to Philadelphia," Delaware County Councilman John McBlain said in a statement.

Mint officials said the 35 staff members had been working around the clock for months to create the 17,700 coins.

The coins are to be sold during the World Meeting of Families on Sept. 26 and 27 and are also available online at http://shop.worldmeeting2015.org/.

Knot art display. Students and teachers at the Rosemont School of the Holy Child in Montgomery County are marking the pope's visit by constructing a knot art display in support of his favorite painting, Mary, Undoer of Knots.

Students tied fabric strips into knots along the fence near the school's Welcome Pope banner and said prayers for the world's needy. Each knot represents someone's struggle.

The children plan to tie more than 500 fabric knots on the fence over the next several days.
