Commissioners to run again

DOYLESTOWN The election campaign for county commissioner this fall launched Wednesday with no surprises: All three incumbents announced they are running for reelection. Each of the commissioners - Republicans Rob Loughery and Charles H. Martin, and Democrat Diane Ellis-Marseglia - has served at least five years on the board.

And despite Bucks County's status as one of the most closely divided political territories in the region, the three-member board has been controlled by a Republican majority since 1983.

Ellis-Marseglia said she would be joined by a Democratic running mate, but that candidate won't be announced until next week. Several row offices are on this year's ballot as well, including register of wills, treasurer, and clerk of courts.
