Police: Hatfield homicide reported by alleged gunman

The 31-year-old man was found inside a residence.

Montgomery County authorities say the death of a man found late Saturday night in Hatfield Township is being investigated as a homicide and that the person who allegedly shot him reported it.

The 31-year-old victim was shot inside a residence on the 2400 block of East Orvilla Road following a "disturbance," according to a statement issued Sunday by Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Hatfield Township Police Chief William J. Tierney.

Police were called at 11:46 p.m. by the gunman, who remained at the scene until officers arrived, authorities said.

The victim's name was being withheld pending notification of family.
