Police: Man shot fatally in Nicetown

A 23-year-old man was shot early Monday morning in the Nicetown section of the city, police said, and died at a hospital shortly afterward.

The incident occurred at the intersection of North 17th Street and West Luzerne Street around 12:30 a.m., according to preliminary police information.

Taken by personal vehicle to Temple University Hospital, the man was treated for wounds to his neck and chest and was pronounced dead at 12:42 a.m.

The man, whose name had been been released Monday morning pending notification of family members, police said.

No arrests or motive were available Monday morning, police said.
