Allan Stuart Voluck, 92, formerly of Wynnewood, a business owner and philanthropist, died Thursday, Jan. 12, at his home in Boca Raton, Fla.

Mr. Voluck owned United Container Corp., a corrugated box manfacturer on Ashton Road in Philadelphia. He incorporated the firm in 1986.

Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Voluck was the son of Philip and Elizabeth Voluck. He graduated from Overbrook High School, was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II, and attended North Carolina State University and what is now St. Joseph's University.

Mr. Voluck met Sondra Ritter at the Boca Raton Resort 64 years ago while vacationing separately with friends. They married and settled in Wynnewood.

Well-known in philanthropic circles, Mr. Voluck was past president of Eagles Fly for Leukemia, a nonprofit that supports pediatric cancer and leukemia research at several area hospitals.

Mr. Voluck and his wife were longtime fundraisers for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Ronald McDonald House. The latter provides lodging for the parents of hospitalized children.

The Volucks were honored by the State of Israel Bonds in 1983 for their work on behalf of that cause.

An avid golfer and tennis player, Mr. Voluck was a past president of Green Valley Country Club in Lafayette Hill.

"He was a tough, successful businessman devoted to his children and his wife," said his son, Philip Ritter Voluck.

Besides his wife and son, he is survived by a daughter, Lisa Jurick; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A grandson died earlier.

Funeral services were Sunday, Jan. 15, in Boca Raton. Interment was private.
