A woman was struck and killed Thursday by a train along the high-speed SEPTA line in Haverford Township, police said.

The incident occurred just before 4 p.m. on the outbound tracks near Lawson Avenue and East Manoa Road near the Pennfield Station, according to township police. The train runs between Norristown and Upper Darby. SEPTA is operating shuttle buses in place of the train between 69th Street and Wynnewood Road.
