Woman, 75, dies after being struck by SUV
A 75-year-old woman died after being hit by an SUV Wednesday afternoon in the city's Upper Roxborough section, police said. The woman, whose name was not released, was crossing the 8900 block of Ridge Avenue about 4:25 p.m. when she was struck by a blue 2011 Nissan Murano heading north, police said. The woman was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead about 5:15 p.m. The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene.
