Armed and dangerous

There's a $2,500 reward just for catching him

RAHEEM KAREEM is a lousy shot with an itchy trigger finger, police say. That's why the U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to his arrest.

Kareem, 23, is wanted on two attempted-murder warrants for allegedly shooting four people - including an 81-year-old and a 69-year-old on a motorized scooter - in West Philadelphia in December.

"He's becoming increasingly more reckless and we're trying to get to him before something like this can happen again," said Supervising Deputy U.S. Marshal James Burke.

Kareem, who has prior arrests for drugs, assault and attempted murder, is black, 5-foot-7, 135 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair and a sleeve of tattoos on his left arm that includes the word "heem." His last known address is on the unit block of North Dearborn Street.

The Marshals Service says Kareem should be considered armed and "extremely dangerous." Tipsters will not be required to testify to collect the reward. It will be paid out once Kareem is arrested, regardless of the trial outcome, Burke said. The tip line is 866-865-8477.
