Wanted: Nurses to aid in sex assault cases

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office is seeking registered nurses to be trained as forensic nurse examiners in sexual-assault cases.

CAMDEN The Camden County Prosecutor's Office is seeking registered nurses to be trained as forensic nurse examiners in sexual-assault cases.

Nurses certified for sexual-assault investigations collect evidence and are trained in how to interact with victims. The positions are per diem and require 40 hours per month of on-call time, according to the Prosecutor's Office.

Interviews are conducted by the office's Forensic Nurse Examiner Unit. All applicants must be registered nurses with at least two years of recent clinical experience and be available to complete the Basic Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) Course for certification through the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
