Man arrested for allegedly robbing two N.J. banks in 15 minutes

A New Jersey man with a growing rap sheet was charged Tuesday with allegedly pulling off the robberies of two Delran banks just 15 minutes apart.

David Glenn, 22, of the 700 block of Gabrielle Court in Burlington Township, at 1:10 p.m. Dec. 12 walked into the Third Federal Bank on Bridgeboro Road and handed a teller a demand note stating he had a gun, according to prosecutors. Glenn allegedly took cash and the keys to a teller's 2001 Nissan Pathfinder.

Investigators said Glenn used the stolen SUV to drive to a nearby Roma Bank on Hartford Road, where he allegedly pointed a gun at a security guard and a teller and demanded money. After making away with an undisclosed amount of cash, Glenn allegedly abandoned the vehicle in a condominium development on the 200 block of Lawrence Lane. The gun used during the Roma Bank robbery was found inside the discarded SUV, according to authorities.

Officials with the U.S. Marshals Service said in a release Glenn became a fugitive following a home invasion in October 2013, when he and 20-year-old Shalir Hall allegedly stormed into a Burlington Township apartment and robbed the tenants at gunpoint. Federal task force members "exhaustively investigated" both Glenn and Hall's whereabouts, leading authorities to Monday night close in on an Irving Street apartment in Newark. U.S. Marshals and officials with the Burlington County Sheriff's Department Warrant Unit surrounded the home and around 9 p.m. arrested Glenn and Hall.

Both men were turned over to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office. Glenn is charged with aggravated assault, robbery, making terroristic threats, theft by unlawful taking and firearm offenses. He also faces charges in Camden County for the robbery Jan. 8 of a Bellmawr TD Bank branch on Black Horse Pike. A Superior Court Judge Tuesday afternoon set Glenn's bail at $350,000. His case will be referred to a Burlington County grand jury for indictment, according to prosecutors.

Officials said an investigation is underway to determine whether either man is suspected in any other bank robberies committed in South Jersey or Pennsylvania.
