Gas prices fall below $2 a gallon in South Jersey

Multiple gas stations in South Jersey were selling gas priced at less than $2 a gallon Saturday.

As prices at the pumps continued to plummet, multiple South Jersey stations were offering gas for less than $2 a gallon Saturday.

At least four Cherry Hill locations were pricing gas at $1.97 a gallon, and several gas stations in Maple Shade were reportedly offering it for as low as $1.95.

That's below the average gas price statewide, which was $2.16 per gallon, as of Friday, according to AAA Mid-Atlantic.

The national average gas price, as of Friday, was $2.17 per gallon, down 6 cents from the week before and $1.16 from a year ago.

The drop is linked to falling crude oil prices, which have been steadily declining since the summer.
