A Camden man was arrested Saturday after allegedly using a box cutter to slash the throats of a woman and her son in what investigators are calling a domestic violence-related stabbing.

Jose Flores, 30, will be charged with two counts of attempted murder, according to a news release from the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

Police said Flores cut a 37-year-old woman's throat around 4:45 a.m. inside a home on the 2900 block of Yorkship Square.

When the victim's 19-year-old son heard his mother's cries for help and tried to intervene, Flores allegedly slashed the teen's neck, as well.

Both victims were rushed to Cooper University Hospital, where the woman was placed in critical but stable condition and her son was placed in stable condition. Their identities were not released.
