The Camden County Prosecutor's Office said the school district has been "fully cooperative."

In a statement Friday, school district Superintendent John Bilodeau said he was "very disturbed" by the allegations.

"When first notified of the allegations school administrators reported them to the proper authorities. Additionally the teacher was immediately removed from the classroom, suspended, and ordered to remain off school grounds," he wrote.

Bilodeau said prosecutors instructed the district not to comment further.

The school district's website lists Ingraham as a sixth grade social studies teacher. According to a database of public employees run by the Asbury Park Press, Ingraham has been employed with the district since 1993.
