EDA chief executive officer Melissa Orsen held a press event at the center this week to raise awareness of the financing that the EDA offers to small businesses and nonprofits.
"Organizations like Habitat for Humanity serve a dual purpose in our state's economy," Orsen said in a statement. "They not only create jobs, but they contribute to the community in invaluable, immeasurable ways through the resources they provide to families in need."
The ReStore, at 530 Route 38 E., sells donated items to support its mission of helping needy families build affordable homes. The organization is a nonprofit affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and has helped build 50 homes throughout Burlington County since its creation in 1987.
The EDA loan was provided through the Small Business Fund and was approved in September. Habitat has been leasing the 26,000-square-foot building since last year..
